Ingredients
- nonstick cooking spray
- 2 ½ pounds - chicken drumsticks
- 2 teaspoons - sea salt
- ¼ tsp - black pepper
- ½ cup - barbecue sauce
- ¼ cup - barbecue sauce
- green onions
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray liberally with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
- Place the chicken legs in a large mixing bowl and season with the salt and black pepper. Add the barbecue sauce and toss with a rubber spatula to thoroughly coat the chicken in the sauce.
- Arrange the chicken legs on the prepared baking sheet.
- Roast the chicken legs on middle rack of oven until slightly brown, 20-30 minutes.
- Set the oven to broil. Broil the chicken until the skin is caramelized and the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165°F, 3-5 minutes. Keep a close eye on the chicken to ensure it does not burn.
- Check to see that chicken is done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
- Transfer to a plate and serve immediately, with additional barbecue sauce and with green onions if desired.
