Tips & Tricks (5)
- Soak for Crispness 💧Soak cut sweet potato fries in cold water for 30 minutes before cooking to remove excess starch, resulting in crispier exteriors and fluffier interiors.
- Spice Blooming Technique 🌶️Toast your cayenne pepper and chili powder in a dry pan for 30 seconds before mixing with oil to unlock deeper, more complex spice flavors.
- Uniform Cutting Method ✂️Cut sweet potatoes into consistent 1/4-inch thick fries to ensure even cooking and identical texture throughout your batch.
- Oil Temperature Mastery 🔥Preheat your baking sheet and oil to 425°F before adding fries to create an immediate sear that locks in crispness while preventing sogginess.
- Layering Seasoning Strategy 🧂Toss fries with half the seasoning before cooking, then finish with remaining spices immediately after removing from heat for layered flavor intensity.
