Birthday Baked Oats
Instructions
1
Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees F and lightly grease a small casserole dish (mine is equivalent to an 8×8 inch pan).
2
Mash your banana directly in the baking dish. Top with the oats, chia seeds, and milk. Mix to combine.
3
Add in the sprinkles and stir one more time to combine.
4
Bake for 25 minutes until the oatmeal is set. Serve immediately with a drizzle of maple syrup or top with your favorite frosting (I used a store bought vegan buttercream!). ENJOY!

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Mash Banana Thoroughly 🍌Mash the banana until completely smooth to ensure even distribution throughout the oats and create a naturally sweet, creamy texture without lumps.
- Don't Skip the Soaking Step ⏱️Let the oat mixture sit for 5-10 minutes after combining ingredients before baking to allow the oats to absorb liquid evenly and achieve a tender, cake-like consistency.
- Toast Chia Seeds First 🌟Lightly toast the chia seeds in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before adding to enhance their nutty flavor and prevent them from becoming gelatinous during baking.
- Use Individual Baking Dishes 🎂Portion the mixture into individual ramekins or small baking dishes for more even baking, better portion control, and a more elegant presentation for birthday celebrations.
- Top with Sprinkles at the End 🎉Add sprinkles in the final 2-3 minutes of baking so they slightly soften and adhere to the oats without melting completely, preserving their festive appearance and celebratory appeal.
