Tips & Tricks (5)
- Freeze Blueberries First 🫐Toss blueberries in a little flour and freeze them for 30 minutes before folding into the batter to prevent sinking and ensure even distribution throughout the bake.
- Toast Walnuts for Depth 🌰Lightly toast walnuts in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before adding to enhance their nutty flavor and create better texture contrast against the soft oatmeal.
- Macerate Blueberries with Maple 🍁Mix a portion of blueberries with maple syrup 15 minutes ahead of time to intensify their flavor and create a naturally sweetened berry sauce that distributes throughout.
- Use Room Temperature Eggs 🥚Allow eggs to sit out for 20 minutes before mixing to ensure better emulsification with wet ingredients, resulting in a more cohesive and evenly textured final product.
- Brown Your Butter First 🧈Melt butter in a saucepan until golden and nutty-smelling, then cool slightly before adding to the mixture to elevate the overall depth of flavor dramatically.
