
Cajun Shrimp & Sausage Pasta

Ingredients
- ½ lb - short pasta
- 3 tablespoons - unsalted butter
- 1 tbsp - olive oil
- ½ lb - shrimp
- 1 tsp - Cajun seasoning
- Salt
- Black pepper
- ½ tsp - garlic powder
- ½ tsp - onion powder
- ½ tsp - paprika
- ½ - yellow onion
- 3 cloves - garlic
- 3 - Cajun sausage
- 1 ½ cups - heavy cream
- ¾ cup - grated Parmesan cheese
- ¼ cup - reserved pasta water
- 1 tbsp - fresh parsley
Instructions
- Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta water, then drain.
- In a skillet, heat butter and olive oil over medium heat.
- Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Sauté for 2–3 minutes per side until cooked through. Remove and set aside.
- Add diced onion to the skillet and season with salt and pepper. Cook until softened, then add minced garlic and cook for 1–2 more minutes.
- Add sliced Cajun sausage and cook until slightly browned.
- Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Season again with Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese and let melt. Add the pasta and a splash of reserved pasta water to thin the sauce as needed.
- Add shrimp back into the skillet along with chopped parsley. Stir everything to combine.
- Serve hot, topped with extra Parmesan and parsley.
