Tips & Tricks (5)
- Prevent Dry Turkey with Moisture Binding 💧Soak your bread crumbs in milk or Worcestershire sauce before mixing to keep the lean turkey moist and tender throughout baking.
- Finely Dice Vegetables for Even Cooking 🔪Cut bell pepper, onion, and zucchini into small ¼-inch pieces so they cook completely in the 20-minute timeframe and distribute flavor evenly.
- Don't Overmix the Meat Mixture 🤐Gently fold ingredients together with your hands until just combined; overmixing develops gluten and creates dense, tough bites instead of a tender texture.
- Line Muffin Pans for Easy Release 🧈Use silicone liners or lightly oil your mini muffin pan so the bites release cleanly without sticking, maintaining their perfect shape for serving.
- Tent with Foil if Cheese Browns Too Fast 🫖If the cheddar cheese begins browning excessively before the turkey cooks through, loosely cover with aluminum foil for the final 5 minutes.
