Instructions
1
Beat together the cake mix, eggs, and vegetable oil until combined. Add the food coloring and beat until well mixed.
2
Stir in the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
3
Cover and chill for at least 30 minutes.
4
When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
5
Use a tablespoon to scoop a heaping spoonful of dough. Roll the dough into a ball and place it on the lined baking sheet. Press the dough down slightly, then decorate with additional candy and chocolate chips if desired. Continue until all the dough has been used.
6
Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10 to 15 minutes, until the edges of the cookies are slightly brown.
7
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for five minutes, then transfer to a wire cooling rack to cool completely before serving.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Don't Overmix the Dough 🥄Mix the cake mix, eggs, and oil just until combined—overmixing develops gluten and creates tough, cake-like cookies instead of chewy ones. Stop as soon as you no longer see dry mix streaks.
- Chill Dough Before Baking ❄️Refrigerate the dough for 15-20 minutes before scooping to prevent excessive spreading and help the cookies maintain their shape while staying gloriously chewy in the center.
- Underbake for Maximum Chewiness 🍪Remove cookies from the oven when the edges are set but the centers still look slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking on the hot baking sheet and achieve that signature chewy texture as they cool.
- Toast White Chocolate Chips First 🤍Lightly toast the white chocolate chips in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before adding them to intensify their flavor and prevent them from becoming waxy during baking.
- Use Oil Instead of Butter for Extra Chewiness 🫒The vegetable oil keeps these cookies incredibly moist and chewy longer than butter would; ensure you're using the exact amount specified to avoid greasy results.
