Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Your Cereal First 🥣Lightly toast the Chex cereal in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before mixing to enhance its nutty flavor and prevent sogginess from the butter mixture.
- Add Marshmallows Last ✨Fold in mini marshmallows and M&Ms after the mixture has cooled to room temperature to prevent them from melting and clumping together with the other ingredients.
- Use Baking Soda for Crispness 🧪Don't skip the baking soda—it neutralizes the acidic brown sugar and helps create an extra crispy, light texture that prevents the mix from becoming dense or chewy.
- Spread Thin While Warm 📋Spread the coated mixture in a single layer on parchment paper immediately after removing from heat, stirring occasionally as it cools to ensure even coating and prevent clumping.
- Store with Silica Packets 🏺Place food-grade silica gel packets in your airtight storage container to absorb moisture and keep your Chex mix crispy and fresh for up to 2 weeks.
