From the Cook
1/2
Cinnamon Spice Baked Apples
Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
2
|
Spray a 9-inch square baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Set aside.
3
|
Peel and core the apples. Slice them into 1/4-inch thick pieces, and place them in a large mixing bowl.
4
|
Drizzle the apples with the melted butter. Add the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt. Toss with a rubber spatula until the apples are evenly coated in the sugar mixture.
5
|
Squeeze the juice from the lemon over the apples and toss once more. Pour the apples into the casserole dish.
6
|
Bake the apples on middle rack of oven, stirring twice throughout the cook time, until they are fork tender and juices are bubbling, 35-40 minutes.
7
|
Check to see that apples are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
8
|
Allow the apples to cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
