Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Dry for Perfect Sear 💧Always pat cod fillets completely dry with paper towels before seasoning and pan-searing to achieve a golden, crispy exterior without steaming the fish.
- Don't Flip Too Early ⏱️Let the cod cook undisturbed for 3-4 minutes on the first side until it develops a golden crust, then flip gently just once to keep the delicate flakes intact.
- Warm Your Tortillas Properly 🔥Char soft flour tortillas directly over a gas flame or in a dry skillet for 10-15 seconds per side to enhance their flavor and improve pliability for wrapping.
- Balance Your Cilantro Lime Sauce 🍋Taste and adjust your cilantro-lime sauce just before serving—a squeeze of fresh lime juice and pinch of salt right at the end brightens flavors significantly.
- Chill Coleslaw Mix in Advance ❄️Prepare your coleslaw 15-20 minutes before assembly and refrigerate to allow it to soften slightly and absorb dressing flavors, creating better texture and taste in each bite.
