Tips & Tricks (5)
- Oil Temperature is Critical 🌡️Maintain oil at exactly 375°F for optimal results—too hot and the outside burns before the inside cooks, too cool and they'll be greasy instead of crispy.
- Chill Your Dough Before Frying 🧊Refrigerate the choux dough for at least 30 minutes before piping into hot oil; this prevents the bites from expanding too quickly and ensures even cooking with a tender interior.
- Double-Dip Cinnamon Sugar Coating 🍂Coat the warm churro bites immediately after frying in melted butter, then roll in cinnamon-sugar while still hot, and finish with a second light coating for that signature Disney crunch and sweetness.
- Use a Piping Bag with Star Tip ⭐A star-shaped piping tip creates authentic churro texture and increases surface area for better caramelization and cinnamon-sugar adhesion compared to round tips.
- Prevent Oil Splattering with Scissors ✂️Use kitchen scissors to snip the dough directly into hot oil instead of squeezing it out manually; this gives you better control and reduces dangerous oil splashing onto your hands.
