Instructions
1
In a skillet on the stove, cook the bacon until crisp, about 3-4 minutes. When cooked, remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain excess grease.
2
In the remaining hot bacon grease in the skillet, cook the vegetables until onions are translucent (about 3 minutes). Add the garlic and continue to cook for 1 more minute.
3
Season the chicken with half of the ranch seasoning, salt and pepper.
4
Add the chicken broth, bacon, veggies and seasoned chicken breasts to a crock pot.
5
Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until the chicken is done. Remove chicken to a plate to shred.
6
Add shredded chicken back to the crock pot with the heavy whipping cream and cream cheese. Let cook until the cream cheese has melted and sauce is thick and creamy.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Crisp Your Bacon First 🥓Cook bacon separately until crispy before adding to the crock pot to maintain texture and prevent it from becoming mushy in the broth. Crumble it and stir in during the last 15 minutes for maximum flavor impact.
- Temper Your Cream Cheese 🧈Cut cream cheese into small cubes and let it sit at room temperature for 20 minutes before stirring into the hot soup to prevent lumps and ensure smooth, creamy consistency.
- Layer Your Aromatics 🧅Dice carrots and celery finely and place them on the bottom of the crock pot with diced onion, allowing them to infuse the broth more effectively and cook evenly throughout the 6-8 hour cycle.
- Build Flavor with Chicken Placement 🍗Nestle chicken breasts directly on top of the vegetables rather than submerging them fully, which allows them to partially steam while staying moist and easier to shred once cooked.
- Balance Cream Addition Timing ⏱️Add the heavy whipping cream in the final 30 minutes of cooking to prevent it from breaking down and curdling, while still allowing it to blend smoothly with the ranch seasoning and broth.
