Instructions
1
|
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
2
|
Slice baguette into ½-inch to ¾-inch slices. You need 18 slices.
3
|
Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and drizzle lightly with olive oil. Bake for 8 minutes, flip and bake for another 7 minutes, until golden and crisp. Let cool slightly.
4
|
Meanwhile, make the goat cheese spread. In a medium bowl, combine goat cheese, softened cream cheese and 1 tablespoon orange juice. Mix until smooth and creamy.
5
|
Assemble the crostini by spreading a heaping spoonful of the goat cheese mixture onto each toasted baguette slice.
6
|
Spoon a small amount of Cranberry and Orange Sauce on top of the cheese layer. Garnish with chopped fresh mint and zest orange over each.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Toast Baguette for Structural Integrity 🥖Brush baguette slices lightly with olive oil and toast at 400°F for 3-4 minutes until golden and crispy; this prevents sogginess when topped with the cranberry sauce and whipped cheese mixture.
- Whip Goat Cheese for Silky Texture 🧈Blend softened goat cheese with cream cheese and a splash of orange juice using a food processor until light and fluffy, creating a luxurious spreadable base that anchors your toppings.
- Make Cranberry Sauce Ahead for Deeper Flavor 🍊Prepare the cranberry-orange sauce 1-2 days in advance; the flavors meld and intensify, while the sauce thickens naturally and is ready to dollop moments before serving.
- Add Fresh Mint at the Last Second ✨Tear and scatter fresh mint leaves only when plating to preserve their vibrant color, aromatic oils, and bright flavor that would otherwise diminish if added too early.
- Balance Tartness with Orange Zest Restraint 🍋Use orange zest sparingly as a final garnish rather than mixing it throughout; this allows diners to experience its bright punch without overwhelming the delicate goat cheese's subtle tang.
