Tips & Tricks (5)
- Thaw Shrimp Properly for Best Texture 🦐Thaw frozen shrimp in the refrigerator overnight rather than at room temperature to maintain firm texture and prevent excess moisture that can make your dip watery.
- Balance Acid and Heat for Depth 🍋Add lemon juice gradually while tasting, as it brightens flavors and balances the richness of cream cheese and mayo without overpowering the seafood.
- Fold Don't Stir Final Ingredients 🥄Gently fold in the shrimp at the very end using a spatula to keep pieces intact and prevent breaking them into small bits that affect texture.
- Layer Seasonings for Complex Flavor 🧂Add Old Bay and garlic powder at different stages – some to the base mixture and reserve a pinch to sprinkle on top after chilling for fresh seasoning notes.
- Chill in Shallow Dish for Optimal Setting ❄️Use a shallow serving dish when chilling so the dip sets evenly throughout and firms up to the perfect spreadable consistency within the hour.
