Creamy Shrimp Dip

Pesto & Potatoes
Pesto & Potatoes

This Creamy Shrimp Dip is one I’ve been making for years, and it’s straight out of the Midwest comfort playbook – cream cheese, mayonnaise, salad shrimp and a few simple seasonings that turn everything into magic. It takes me back to having appetizers for dinner on Christmas Eve with my family. Once you mix all of the ingredients together, chill the dip for an hour (or overnight) and serve it with crackers or celery sticks and carrots for a delightful appetizer with that little kick of protein.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.

  2. Step 2

Add the mayonnaise and mix until fully combined.

  3. Step 3

Add lemon juice, Worcestershire, Old Bay garlic powder and black pepper. Mix until incorporated.

  4. Step 4

Pat the salad shrimp dry with paper towels. Fold shrimp and sliced green onions into the dip. Add some heat with a few dashes of hot sauce, stirring to combine.

  5. Step 5

Transfer to a serving dish. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, up to overnight, so the flavors meld and the dip sets.

  6. Step 6

Garnish with an additional sprinkle of Old Bay seasoning and extra green onions. Serve with crackers and raw, cut veggies.
