Instructions

Crispy Prosciutto

1
|
Preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and set aside.
2
|
Working one at a time, fold each slice of prosciutto into a small pile. Space the piles on the prepared sheet pan about 1/2-inch apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the prosciutto is darkened and mostly crisp.
3
|
Remove the pan from the oven and let the prosciutto cool completely. It will crisp up more as it cools. Break the prosciutto piles into smaller, bite-size pieces.

Burrata Crostini

1
|
Divide the burrata between the crostini. Make sure to get both the mozzarella shell and the straciatella (the creamy curds inside the cheese) on each piece!
2
|
Place a few pieces of the crispy prosciutto on each crostini. Drizzle the crostini with hot honey. Sprinkle freshly-cracked black pepper on top for garnish. Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Render Prosciutto Perfectly 🥓
Bake prosciutto on a parchment-lined sheet at 400°F for 8-12 minutes until it's glass-like and crispy, then crumble just before serving to maintain maximum crunch and prevent sogginess.
  • Burrata Temperature Matters ❄️
Remove burrata from the refrigerator just 10-15 minutes before serving so it's cool but not ice-cold, allowing the creamy center to reach optimal texture and flavor release on your palate.
  • Toast Crostini Strategically 🍞
Toast crostini at 375°F until golden and crispy, then immediately brush with a thin layer of quality olive oil while still warm to create a moisture barrier that prevents sogginess from the burrata.
  • Infuse Hot Honey with Depth 🍯
Warm honey with red pepper flakes, garlic, and thyme for 2-3 minutes before drizzling to create complex layered heat that complements rather than overwhelms the delicate burrata.
  • Assemble Right Before Service ⏱️
Build each crostini just 2-3 minutes before serving by placing burrata first (for stability), then crumbled prosciutto, finishing with hot honey and black pepper to ensure maximum textural contrast and fresh flavors.
