Cut the tofu into slices and place them side by side on a clean tea towel or a piece of kitchen roll. Press down on the slices from above with a second tea towel or some kitchen roll to squeeze out as much water as possible.

Put cornstarch in a deep plate and carefully turn the tofu slices in it.

Heat oil in a pan. Add tofu slices and fry over medium-high heat for three to five minutes, until the underside is golden brown. Season the tofu with salt, turn it over, and fry for another two to three minutes, until this side is also golden brown and crispy.
