Tips & Tricks (5)
- Shred Chicken While Hot 🔥Shred the chicken immediately after removing it from the crock pot while it's still steaming hot, which makes it pull apart effortlessly and absorb the cream cheese mixture more effectively.
- Toast Your Buns 🍞Lightly butter and toast the buns before assembling to prevent them from becoming soggy and to add a subtle flavor that complements the creamy chicken filling.
- Crisp Bacon Separately 🥓Cook the bacon separately in a skillet rather than adding it raw to ensure it reaches optimal crispness, then crumble and fold it in at the end to maintain texture.
- Use Room Temperature Cream Cheese 🧀Soften your cream cheese at room temperature for 30 minutes before adding to the crock pot so it blends smoothly into the chicken without lumps or clumps.
- Reserve Cooking Liquid for Consistency 💧Save some of the flavorful cooking liquid from the crock pot to adjust the mixture's consistency before serving, preventing overly dry sandwiches while keeping the filling creamy.
