Tips & Tricks (5)
- Sear Before Slow Cooking 🔥Sear the pork loin in olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side on high heat before adding to the crock pot to develop a golden crust that locks in juices and adds depth of flavor.
- Cornstarch Slurry for Perfect Sauce 🥣Mix cornstarch with cold water separately before adding to the sauce to prevent lumps and achieve a silky, restaurant-quality parmesan coating.
- Layer Garlic for Maximum Impact 🧄Use minced fresh garlic in the initial sear and add sliced garlic to the crock pot liquid for complex flavor; the slow cooking mellows raw garlic while intensifying overall taste.
- Add Parmesan at the End ⏰Stir in grated Parmesan cheese only in the last 10-15 minutes of cooking to prevent it from becoming grainy or separating in the slow cooker's prolonged heat.
- Use a Meat Thermometer for Precision 🌡️Check internal temperature at 145°F for perfectly cooked pork; slow cookers vary greatly, so relying on time alone can result in overcooked, dry meat.
