Tips & Tricks (5)
- Crisp the Ramen Separately 🍜Break the instant ramen into bite-sized pieces and toast them in a dry skillet over medium heat for 2-3 minutes before tossing with seasoning and butter—this prevents soggy noodles and ensures maximum crunch that lasts until serving.
- Season the Ramen While Hot 🔥Toss the warm crispy ramen noodles with melted butter and your seasoning mixture immediately after toasting, so the flavors adhere properly and distribute evenly throughout every piece.
- Make-Ahead Vinaigrette Strategy ⏰Prepare the soy-vinegar dressing up to 24 hours in advance and keep it separate from the salad; add it just before serving to prevent the cabbage from becoming watery and maintain all vegetables' crisp texture.
- Massage Your Cabbage Lightly 🤚Gently massage the shredded cabbage with a pinch of salt for 30 seconds to slightly soften it while keeping it crunchy, which also helps it absorb the vinaigrette flavors more effectively.
- Toast the Almonds and Seeds Separately 🌰Lightly toast almonds and sesame seeds in a dry pan for 1-2 minutes each before adding to maintain their individual textures and deepen their nutty flavors, then add them only at the last moment before serving.
