Tips & Tricks (5)
- Coconut Oil Temperature Control 🌡️Melt coconut oil to exactly 110-120°F before mixing to prevent cooking the plant-based milk and ensure a smooth, fudgy texture rather than a cakey one.
- Cocoa Powder Blooming Technique 🍫Whisk cocoa powder with hot plant-based milk for 30 seconds before adding other ingredients to fully hydrate the cocoa and intensify the chocolate flavor dramatically.
- Avoid Overmixing for Fudgy Results ✨Mix the batter only until ingredients are just combined—overmixing develops gluten and creates tough brownies instead of the desired soft, chewy texture.
- Strategic Underbaking Timing ⏱️Remove brownies when a toothpick inserted in the center shows a few moist crumbs (not clean), as they continue cooking while cooling and will be fudgy, not dry.
- Dairy-Free Chocolate Chip Selection 🎯Choose high-quality dairy-free chocolate chips with cocoa butter (not coconut oil-based) to prevent melting into the batter and maintain distinct chocolate pockets throughout.
