Easy Baked Sweet Potato Fries
Instructions
1
|
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
2
|
Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
3
|
Cut the sweet potatoes into wedges about 3/4 inch thick.
4
|
Place the sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with the salt and black pepper. Use a rubber spatula to toss the sweet potatoes until they are evenly coated.
5
|
Transfer the sweet potatoes to the prepared baking sheet. Spread the wedges out, leaving as much space as possible between them.
6
|
Roast on middle rack of oven for 12 minutes.
7
|
Carefully flip the sweet potatoes with tongs or a rubber spatula. Continue roasting until they are tender and slightly charred, 10-14 minutes.
8
|
Check to see that sweet potatoes are done. Remove from oven or add time as needed.
9
|
Garnish with chopped chives if desired. Serve immediately.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Slice Uniformity Matters 🔪Cut sweet potato fries into uniform 1/4-inch thick strips to ensure even cooking and consistent crispiness across the entire batch.
- Moisture Removal Technique 💨Pat sweet potato strips completely dry with paper towels before seasoning to help them crisp up and prevent soggy fries.
- Strategic Baking Spacing 📏Spread fries in a single layer with minimal overlap on the baking sheet, allowing hot air to circulate and create maximum crunchiness.
- Oil Coating Pro Tip 🫒Use just enough olive oil to lightly coat the fries - too much will prevent proper crisping and lead to greasy results.
- Seasoning Window 🌿Sprinkle chopped chives immediately after removing from the oven to preserve their fresh flavor and prevent wilting.
