Tips & Tricks (5)
- Room Temperature Ingredients for Perfect Texture 🧈Allow eggs and butter to reach room temperature before mixing to ensure even distribution of the cake mix and optimal binding with the Butterfinger bits, resulting in uniformly chewy cookies.
- Don't Overmix the Batter ⚠️Mix ingredients just until combined to avoid overdeveloping gluten, which would make cookies tough instead of maintaining that perfect crisp-to-chewy ratio the recipe promises.
- Reserve Extra Butterfinger Bits for Topping 🍪Press additional Butterfinger bits onto cookie tops before baking to create intense candy flavor pockets and enhance the visual appeal without altering the simple 4-ingredient formula.
- Chill Dough for Better Shape Retention 🧊Refrigerate the dough for 15-20 minutes before baking to prevent excessive spreading, giving you thicker, chewier cookies with crispy edges rather than thin, flat wafers.
- Bake Until Edges Turn Golden, Not Centers 👀Remove cookies when edges are golden but centers still appear slightly underdone—they'll continue cooking as they cool, locking in that signature chewy interior while maintaining crispness.
