*almond or peppermint extract would also taste great! If using peppermint extract, I’d start with just a couple drops to start and add more to taste.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Bloom Your Cocoa Powder 🫗Whisk cocoa powder with a small amount of hot milk first to create a smooth paste, preventing lumps and ensuring rich, even chocolate flavor throughout your drink.
- Temper with Almond Butter 🥜Add almond butter to the pot before the milk to create a creamy emulsion; this prevents separation and adds luxurious mouthfeel without dairy.
- Quality Chocolate Makes All the Difference 🍫Use premium dark chocolate chips (70% cacao or higher) with minimal additives; they dissolve smoothly and provide complex flavor that elevates the entire beverage.
- Low Heat Throughout 🔥Keep heat at medium or below to prevent scorching and preserve the delicate vanilla notes; high heat can also cause non-dairy milk to separate or develop a burnt taste.
- Froth for Luxurious Texture ✨Use an immersion blender or whisk vigorously for 30 seconds at the end to create a silky foam top, adding an upscale café-style finish to your homemade hot chocolate.
