Instructions

Bring water to a boil in a pot. Reduce heat slightly, slowly stir in the oat groats and bring to a boil again while stirring.

Add salt to the porridge, then simmer over low heat with the lid closed for 20 to 30 minutes. Stir regularly.

Once the porridge has reached the desired consistency and the oat groats are "al dente", remove the pot from the heat. Sweeten the porridge with honey or syrup, divide it between two bowls, and serve with your choice of toppings.
