Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pound for Uniform Coating 🔨Pound the cube steak to an even thickness before breading to ensure uniform cooking and consistent crispy coating throughout each finger steak.
- Double-Dredge for Extra Crunch 🥔Dip breaded steaks back into the egg wash and coating mixture a second time for a noticeably thicker, crunchier crust that rivals restaurant quality.
- Toast Your Breading Mix 🌾Lightly toast the corn flakes and french fried onion mixture in a dry pan for 2-3 minutes before breading to intensify flavors and enhance crispiness.
- Oil Temperature is Critical 🌡️Maintain oil at 350-375°F for frying; use a thermometer to prevent soggy results from temperatures that are too low or burnt exteriors from temperatures that are too high.
- Sauce Application Strategy 🍯Serve the Red Robin Campfire Sauce on the side for dipping rather than coating the steaks directly, keeping them crispy longer and allowing diners to control sauce intensity.
