Tips & Tricks (5)
- Brown Your Garlic Slowly 🧄Toast minced garlic in butter over medium-low heat for 2-3 minutes until golden and fragrant, but never let it burn or it will turn bitter and ruin the entire sauce.
- Reserve Pasta Water for Silkiness 💧Save 1 cup of starchy pasta water before draining and whisk it into your garlic butter sauce to create a luxurious, creamy coating that clings beautifully to the pasta.
- Grate Parmesan Fresh, Never Pre-Shredded 🧀Always use freshly grated Parmigiano-Reggiano rather than pre-shredded cheese, as it melts smoothly into the sauce without the anti-caking agents that create a grainy texture.
- Cook Pasta Al Dente for Perfect Texture 🍝Finish your pasta 1-2 minutes before the package directions suggest, as it will continue cooking slightly when tossed with the hot butter sauce, achieving ideal tenderness.
- Finish with Cold Butter for Emulsification ✨Remove the sauce from heat and whisk in a final knob of cold unsalted butter to create an emulsified, glossy finish that elevates the dish from simple to restaurant-quality.
