Make sure the broccoli florets are roughly 1 inch wide, and arrange them in an even layer on the baking sheet.
4

Drizzle the broccoli with olive oil. Sprinkle with salt and black pepper.
5
|
Use a rubber spatula to toss the broccoli until it is evenly coated in the oil.

Roast broccoli on middle rack of oven for 15 minutes. While it is roasting, finely mince the garlic cloves.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Moisture Maximization 💦
Pat broccoli florets completely dry before roasting to ensure maximum crispiness and prevent steaming instead of caramelizing.
  • Garlic Infusion Technique 🧄
Mince garlic finely and let it sit for 10 minutes before adding to the olive oil to activate its most potent flavor compounds.
  • Single Layer Perfection 🥦
Spread broccoli florets in a single, uncrowded layer on the baking sheet to guarantee even roasting and prevent soggy results.
  • High Heat Caramelization 🔥
Roast at 425°F to achieve perfect golden-brown edges and create a delightful nutty flavor through quick Maillard reaction.
  • Seasoning Timing Trick 🧂
Salt broccoli just before roasting to draw out minimal moisture and prevent pre-cooking of the vegetable.
