Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Soften Frosting for Smooth Application 🧈
Let cream cheese frosting sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before piping to ensure smooth, even coverage on the gingersnap cookies without cracking or tearing.
  • Pipe Antlers with Precision 🦌
Use a piping bag with a small round tip to create two small frosting dots on top of each cookie, then immediately place pretzel stick pieces or licorice strips before the frosting sets for secure antler attachment.
  • Chill Before Decorating 🧊
Refrigerate frosted cookies for 5-10 minutes before adding edible eyes and M&M noses so the decorations adhere properly and won't slide off during storage or transport.
  • Layer Frosting for Stability 🎨
Apply a thin base layer of frosting first, let it set slightly, then add a second layer for placing decorations—this prevents eyes and candies from sinking into overly soft frosting.
  • Organize Your Decoration Station 🎭
Arrange all candies, eyes, and frosting in small bowls within arm's reach in assembly-line fashion to keep decorating efficient, consistent, and fun when working with kids.
