Tips & Tricks (5)
- Bind Your Turkey Mixture Properly 🔗Add a beaten egg and 2-3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs to your ground turkey to bind the meat and prevent dry, crumbly burgers from falling apart on the grill.
- Don't Overwork the Meat 🙌Mix your burger patties gently and form them with minimal handling—overworking creates dense, tough burgers; handle just until ingredients are combined.
- Pickle Onions Ahead for Maximum Flavor 🧅Prepare pickled onions at least 2-3 hours before serving, or ideally the day before, so they fully absorb the vinegar and brown sugar for peak tanginess and sweetness.
- Bloom Your Spices in Oil First 🌶️Toast the allspice, cumin, and chipotle pepper in warm canola oil for 30 seconds before mixing into the meat to unlock their aromatic oils and deepen their flavors.
- Create a Thumbprint Indent ✌️Press a small thumbprint into the center of each patty before grilling—this prevents the burger from puffing up and ensures even, consistent cooking throughout.
