Instructions

1

Place the beef, garlic powder, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and 1 teaspoon salt in a bowl and using your hands mix to thoroughly combine. Divide the meat into 6 pieces and form into 1/4-1/2 inch thick patties.
2
|
Heat a large sauté pan over medium heat and cook the burgers for 3 minutes on each side or until medium rare. Top with cheese and cook another minute or until cheese melts.
3
|
While burgers are cooking, cut the avocados in half, remove the pit and scoop the flesh into a bowl. Squeeze in the juice of a lime, 1/2 teaspoon salt and cilantro and mash until a few pieces of avocado remain.
4
|
Place a slice of tomato on the buns, top with cheese burgers, a large spoonful of guacamole and top with remaining bun.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Guacamole Timing & Oxidation Prevention 🥑
Prepare your guacamole just before serving and add lime juice immediately to prevent browning. Store any extra with plastic wrap pressed directly on the surface to minimize air exposure.
  • Season Your Beef Patties Strategically 🧂
Salt and pepper the beef just before cooking, and add Worcestershire sauce mixed into the meat for deeper umami flavor that complements the creamy avocado perfectly.
  • Cheese Melting Temperature Control 🧀
Place cheese on the patty in the final 30-45 seconds of cooking while covering with a lid or foil tent to trap steam for guaranteed melting without over-cooking the meat.
  • Toast Your Buns for Textural Contrast 🍞
Lightly butter and toast your burger buns on a hot griddle until golden; this prevents sogginess from the guacamole and melted cheese while adding an essential textural element.
  • Layer Assembly Order Matters 🏗️
Build from bottom up: toasted bun, cheese-topped patty, then fresh tomato slices, and finish with guacamole and cilantro on top to ensure flavors distribute evenly with each bite.
