Instructions

1
|
In a large mixing bowl combine milk and pudding mixes. It is best to use a mixer because this mixture is very thick. Place bowl in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
2
|
Place Oreos in the food processor and finely chop. If you don’t have a food processor, place them in a large zip top bag and crush with a rolling pin or mallet.
3
|
Remove the pudding mixture from the refrigerator and mix in whipped topping.
4
|
Place about ½ and inch of crushed Oreo at the bottom of each cup. Spoon pudding mixture evenly into each cup and top with a thick layer of crushed Oreos. Place in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
5
|
Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave safe bowl or double boiler. Place in a piping bag and cut a small hole in the tip. Use the chocolate to decorate Milano cookies like gravestones or ghosts.
6
|
Remove the pudding cups from the refrigerator and press the bottom half of a Milano cookie into each cup. Decorate with gummy worms and sprinkles to create a mini “graveyard”
7
|
Serve immediately.

Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Crush Oreos Strategically 🍪
Pulse Oreos in a food processor until you have a mix of fine crumbs and larger chunks—this creates authentic "dirt" texture with varied particle sizes that mimics real soil.
  • Chill Pudding Before Layering ❄️
Prepare chocolate pudding and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before assembling cups so layers stay distinct and don't blend together during stacking.
  • Soften Milano Cookies Intentionally 🍫
Leave Milano cookies at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before crumbling to make them easier to break into optimal bite-sized pieces that won't shatter into dust.
  • Position Gummy Worms Strategically 🪱
Insert gummy worms just before serving rather than during assembly—this prevents them from dissolving into the pudding and keeps them visibly "crawling" out of the cup for maximum visual impact.
  • Stabilize Whipped Topping Properly 🥄
Add whipped topping to pudding cups immediately before serving, as it can weep moisture after 2+ hours; alternatively, use stabilized whipped cream made with a touch of powdered sugar and cornstarch.
