Tips & Tricks (5)
- Soften Cream Cheese First 🧈Let cream cheese sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before spreading to ensure smooth, even coverage without tearing the delicate ham slices.
- Pat Pickles Dry 🥒Use paper towels to thoroughly dry pickle spears before assembly, preventing excess moisture from seeping into the cream cheese and making the rolls soggy.
- Chill Before Slicing 🧊Refrigerate assembled roll-ups for at least 30 minutes before cutting to firm up the cream cheese, allowing for clean, attractive diagonal cuts that hold their shape.
- Layer Strategically 🎯Spread cream cheese closer to one long edge of the ham slice and place the pickle along that same edge, creating a tighter roll that won't unravel during storage or serving.
- Add Flavor Enhancements ✨Mix dill, garlic powder, or a splash of hot sauce into the cream cheese before spreading for elevated flavor that complements both the ham and pickle without extra prep steps.
