Tips & Tricks (5)
- Chill Dough for Crispy Crackers ❄️Refrigerate your dough for at least 30 minutes before rolling and cutting to prevent spreading during baking and achieve perfectly crisp, snappy crackers with clean edges.
- Poke Holes Before Baking 🔍Use a fork to pierce the dough evenly before baking to prevent puffing and create the authentic crackling texture that homemade graham crackers are known for.
- Brown Sugar Moisture Control 🍯Pack your dark brown sugar firmly when measuring and break up any clumps to ensure even distribution of molasses and prevent dense, heavy crackers.
- Whole Wheat Flour Balance ⚖ ️Don't exceed the whole wheat flour ratio specified—too much will create a dense, gritty texture, so blend it carefully with all-purpose flour for optimal structure and sweetness.
- Cool Completely Before Storage 🧊Allow crackers to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack until completely crisp before storing in an airtight container to maintain crunchiness.
