Ingredients
- 16 oz blocks - mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup - all-purpose flour
- 3 - eggs
- 2 cups - breadcrumbs
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Neutral oil
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Dipping sauce of choice
Instructions
- Cut the block of mozzarella into thick strips.
- Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Season all three with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Dredge each mozzarella strip in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat with a second coating of egg and breadcrumbs.
- Place coated mozzarella sticks on a tray and freeze for 1–2 hours until firm.
- Heat neutral oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry mozzarella sticks in batches, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcook.
- Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Sprinkle with salt and grated Parmesan. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
