Homemade Mozzarella Sticks
These Homemade Mozzarella Sticks are golden, crispy, and oozing with cheese—everything you want in a classic snack or appetizer. Thick strips of mozzarella are double-dredged in seasoned flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs for that perfect crunch. Frozen for optimal frying, they cook up golden brown and delicious. Finished with a sprinkle of Parmesan and salt, and served with your favorite dipping sauce, they're easy to make and totally irresistible.

- Step 1
Cut the block of mozzarella into thick strips.
- Step 2
Prepare three bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs. Season all three with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Step 3
Dredge each mozzarella strip in flour, then egg, then breadcrumbs. Repeat with a second coating of egg and breadcrumbs.
- Step 4
Place coated mozzarella sticks on a tray and freeze for 1–2 hours until firm.
- Step 5
Heat neutral oil in a pot to 350°F (175°C).
- Step 6
Fry mozzarella sticks in batches, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy. Do not overcook.
- Step 7
Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Step 8
Sprinkle with salt and grated Parmesan. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
