Tips & Tricks (5)
- Sear Before Slow Cooking 🔥Sear the pork loin in olive oil for 2-3 minutes per side before adding to the crock pot to develop a golden crust that locks in juices and creates deeper, caramelized flavors.
- Mince Fresh Garlic Last 🧄Reserve half your minced garlic to add in the final 30 minutes of cooking to preserve its pungent, fresh bite that complements the sweet honey without becoming bitter.
- Balance Sweet and Savory 🍯Whisk honey with Dijon mustard and soy sauce before adding to create an emulsified glaze that coats the meat evenly and prevents the honey from burning or becoming overly cloying.
- Use Low Setting for Tenderness ⏱️Cook on LOW for 6-8 hours rather than HIGH to achieve melt-in-your-mouth tenderness, as pork loin can dry out quickly with excessive heat in a slow cooker.
- Reduce Liquid at the End 💧Transfer the cooked pork to a serving platter, then simmer the sauce uncovered for 5-10 minutes on high to concentrate flavors and create a rich, glossy glaze that clings beautifully to the meat.
