Originally created at Pat O’Brien’s in New Orleans during World War II, the Hurricane was created because rum was plentiful at the time. This boozy drink uses light and dark rum, plus fresh-squeezed fruit juices and passionfruit for that slightly tart, yet sweet taste. This Hurricane cocktail was meant for celebrating with friends, whether you're at a Mardi Gras parade or just enjoying a dinner party at home.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Rum Ratio Perfection 🥃Balance the flavor profile by using a 50/50 mix of dark and light rum - this creates depth while maintaining a smooth, complex cocktail base.
- Fresh Juice Magic 🍊Always use freshly squeezed juices instead of store-bought - the difference in brightness and flavor intensity is remarkable and truly elevates the Hurricane.
- Ice Technique Mastery 🧊Crush your own ice or use large, slow-melting cocktail ice to prevent over-dilution and maintain the drink's robust flavor profile.
- Grenadine Pro Tip 💧For the most vibrant color and authentic taste, use high-quality pomegranate-based grenadine and add it last to create a beautiful gradient effect.
- Garnish Like a Pro 🍒Elevate presentation by using a Maraschino cherry and a fresh orange slice, and consider rimming the glass with raw sugar for an extra touch of elegance.
