Italian Herbs and Parmesan Subway-Style Sandwich Bread
Soft on the inside, lightly crisp on the outside, and packed with Italian herbs and Parmesan, this homemade Subway-style sandwich bread is perfect for subs, sandwiches, and melts. With a fluffy crumb and that iconic herby topping, these rolls taste just like your favorite sandwich shop, only better.

Instructions
- Step 1
In a large bowl, combine flour, instant yeast, salt, and dried oregano. Add honey, melted butter, milk, and water. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm (not hot) place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Step 3
Divide the dough into 4 equal pieces. Shape each piece into an oval sandwich-bread shape and place them on a lined baking tray.
- Step 4
Let the shaped dough rest for about 20–30 minutes. Before baking, score each loaf with 4 shallow slashes. Sprinkle generously with Parmesan and oregano.
- Step 5
Place a small oven-safe dish with water on the bottom of the oven to create steam.
- Step 6
Bake at 190°C (375°F) for 20–22 minutes, until golden brown and baked through.
- Step 7
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing.
