Italian Oven Baked Prawns (Shrimp) is a wonderful and easy way to make prawns thanks to the butter, lemon, and Italian seasonings, this dish actually tastes a lot like baked shrimp scampi. We love to serve it over pasta, but it’s also great with rice, or with a loaf of bread or garlic bread sticks to soak up all of that extra buttery sauce.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Shrimp Size Matters 🍤Choose large or jumbo shrimp (16-20 count) for the best texture and to prevent overcooking. Larger shrimp provide more consistent cooking and a more luxurious eating experience.
- Dry Brine Technique 🧂Pat shrimp completely dry with paper towels before seasoning to ensure crisp edges and prevent steaming. Moisture is the enemy of achieving that perfect golden-brown exterior.
- Butter Layering Trick 🧈Melt butter in the baking dish before adding shrimp to create an instant flavor base and prevent sticking. Use unsalted butter to control the salt level from the Italian dressing mix.
- Lemon Zest Boost 🍋Add fresh lemon zest in addition to juice for a more complex, aromatic citrus profile that elevates the entire dish. Zest contains essential oils that provide deeper flavor than juice alone.
- Positioning for Perfect Bake 🔥Place the baking dish on the top rack of the oven to ensure direct heat and quick caramelization without overcooking the delicate shrimp. This technique helps achieve that golden, slightly crisp exterior.
