You only need four ingredients for this kimchi grilled cheese: bread, butter or mayonnaise, cheese, and kimchi. You can make it in an air fryer for a perfectly crispy sandwich or cook it in a pan on the stovetop until the bread is golden and the cheese melts. The result is a quick, flavorful twist on the classic grilled cheese with a spicy, tangy kick from the kimchi.

  1. Step 1

    Spread a very thin layer of butter or mayonnaise on both sides of a slice of bread, then cut it in half.

  2. Step 2

    Place cheese on both halves of the bread and spread kimchi on one of the halves. Place the other slice of bread on top of the kimchi as a lid.

  3. Step 3

    Place the sandwich in the (not preheated) air fryer and bake at 175°C for 8 minutes until crispy.

  4. Step 4

    Alternatively, fry the sandwich on both sides in a pan until the bread is nice and crispy and the cheese is melted.
