Instructions
1

Chop the lettuce and tomatoes.
2

Mix the sour cream, cream cheese, and taco seasoning in a medium bowl. You can use a spoon, but I find I get a smoother dip bake when I use a mixer.

Fill the bottom of a large dish with the dip mixture, spreading it evenly.
4

Top with lettuce, then cheese, tomatoes, and olives.
5
|
Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, or until ready to serve.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Cream Cheese Temperature Control 🧈Let cream cheese and sour cream sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before mixing to ensure a smooth, lump-free base layer that spreads evenly without breaking apart.
- Strategic Moisture Management 💧Pat dry your cherry tomatoes and olives with paper towels before adding them to prevent excess liquid from seeping into lower layers and making the dip soggy.
- Flavor-Forward Seasoning 🌶️Bloom your taco seasoning in the cream cheese mixture by letting it sit for 5 minutes before spreading, which allows the spices to fully hydrate and distribute their flavors evenly throughout the dip.
- Assembly Timing for Freshness 🥬Add delicate lettuce as the final layer within 30 minutes of serving to maintain its crisp texture, as it will wilt if exposed to the moisture from the dip for too long.
- Make-Ahead Strategy ⏰Prepare the cream cheese and taco seasoning base up to 24 hours in advance, but assemble all fresh toppings (tomatoes, olives, lettuce, cheese) no more than 2 hours before serving for optimal texture and flavor.
