Lemon Cream Shrimp Pasta
Instructions
1
|
Cook pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water and drain the rest.
2
|
Season shrimp with paprika, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Drizzle with olive oil and mix well.
3
|
In a pan over medium heat, melt butter with a dash of olive oil. Add shrimp and cook about 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
4
|
In the same pan, add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant. Deglaze with a splash of white wine.
5
|
Add heavy cream and stir. Season again with the same spices used on the shrimp.
6
|
Bring to a gentle simmer, then add cooked pasta and a splash of pasta water.
7
|
Return shrimp to the pan and stir in Parmesan and red pepper flakes.
8
|
Add lemon juice if desired for added brightness. Toss until well combined, adding pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.
9
|
Serve hot topped with more Parmesan and a pinch of red pepper flakes.

Tips & Tricks (5)
- Shrimp Seasoning Technique 🦐Pat shrimp completely dry before seasoning to ensure a perfect sear and prevent steaming, which allows the spices to adhere better and create a delicious crust.
- Pasta Water Magic 💧Always reserve 1 cup of pasta water before draining, as its starchy consistency helps emulsify and thicken the sauce, creating a silkier, more cohesive dish.
- Wine Selection Secrets 🍷Choose a crisp, dry white wine like Pinot Grigio or Sauvignon Blanc that will complement the lemon and enhance the overall flavor profile without overpowering the delicate shrimp.
- Cream Sauce Stability 🥄Add heavy cream slowly and stir continuously to prevent breaking or curdling, maintaining a smooth and luxurious sauce texture.
- Lemon Zest Boost 🍋Grate fresh lemon zest into the sauce for an intense citrus aroma that goes beyond just lemon juice, adding depth and brightness to the entire dish.
