Ingredients
- 355 milliliters - Sprite
- 15 ounces - Lemon Cake Mix
- 8 ounces - Cream Cheese
- 2 tablespoons - Butter
- 4 cups - Icing Sugar
- 2 tablespoons - Milk
- 2 teaspoons - Lemon Extract
- 1 - Lemon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350F.
- Grease a 9″ x 11″ casserole dish and set aside.
- In a large bowl, beat together the white cake mix and Spritefor 2 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting.
- In a large bowl, beat together the cream cheese, butter and powdered icing sugar for 2 minutes, then add the lemon extract and lemon zest. Beat to incorporate, then add the milk as needed.
- Use an offset spatula to spread the frosting on the cooled cake.
- Garnish the cake with additional lemon zest and lemon slices, as desired.
