Tips & Tricks (5)
- Dry Your Sprouts Thoroughly 💧Pat Brussels sprouts completely dry with paper towels before tossing with oil and seasoning—moisture prevents caramelization and creates steam instead of that coveted golden, crispy exterior.
- Cut Sprouts Evenly in Half ✂️Cut all Brussels sprouts to uniform size (preferably halved) to ensure even roasting; smaller pieces cook faster while larger ones remain undercooked, resulting in inconsistent texture.
- Add Maple Syrup Mid-Roast 🍁Apply the maple glaze halfway through roasting rather than at the start to prevent burning; this timing allows the syrup to caramelize beautifully without charring.
- Arrange Cut-Side Down First 👇Place Brussels sprouts cut-side down for the first half of cooking to create maximum contact with the hot pan, developing deep caramelization and concentrating natural sweetness.
- Layer Your Seasonings Strategically 🎯Combine your all-purpose seasoning with the oil before coating, then finish with complementary flavors like Dijon mustard or red chili flakes after roasting to enhance complexity without overwhelming the maple notes.
