Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Dry Your Salmon Thoroughly 🎯
Pat salmon fillets completely dry with paper towels before cooking to ensure a golden, crispy exterior and better glaze adhesion without steam interfering.
  • Balance Your Glaze Components ⚖️
Whisk maple syrup, Dijon mustard, and soy sauce together before cooking, ensuring the brown sugar is dissolved for a smooth, glossy coating that caramelizes perfectly.
  • Master the Skin-Side Sear 🔥
Start cooking skin-side down on medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes without moving the fillet, then flip once to finish—this creates a crispy, protective skin that locks in moisture.
  • Time Your Glaze Application ⏱️
Apply the glaze only in the final 2-3 minutes of cooking to prevent burning; the residual heat will caramelize it into a beautiful, sticky coating without charring the sugar.
  • Toast Your Almonds Separately 🌰
Lightly toast almonds in a dry skillet before plating to amplify their nutty flavor and add textural contrast that complements the tender fish and soft vegetables.
