Tips & Tricks (5)
- Pat Salmon Dry for Crispy Skin 🐟Use paper towels to thoroughly dry the salmon fillets before cooking to achieve a golden, crispy exterior and prevent the glaze from sliding off.
- Balance Your Glaze Sweetness 🍯Taste your maple-soy glaze before applying it; if too sweet, add a splash of lemon juice or extra soy sauce to create the perfect savory-sweet harmony.
- Toast Almonds Separately for Maximum Crunch 🌰Lightly toast the almonds in a dry skillet for 2-3 minutes before serving to intensify their nutty flavor and ensure they stay crispy rather than softening from the glaze.
- Cook Salmon Skin-Side Down First 🔥Start with the skin-side down on medium-high heat for 4-5 minutes to render the skin, then flip to apply the glaze for even cooking and a luxurious buttery texture.
- Let Glaze Caramelize in the Last Minute ✨Add the maple glaze during the final minute of cooking and increase heat slightly to allow it to caramelize and stick to the fish, creating a glossy, flavorful crust.
