Tips & Tricks (5)
- Keep Pie Crust Ice Cold ❄️Leave your refrigerated pie crust in the fridge until the last moment before cutting and shaping to ensure maximum flakiness and prevent shrinkage during baking.
- Toss Apples with Lemon Juice 🍋Mix your diced apples with fresh lemon juice immediately after cutting to prevent browning and add a subtle brightness that complements the cinnamon flavor.
- Double Your Cinnamon Sugar 🤎Create a cinnamon-sugar mixture and use it both in the apple filling and sprinkled on the outside of the pastry before baking for intensified flavor and a beautiful caramelized crust.
- Brush with Butter Before Baking 🧈Lightly brush each assembled bite with melted butter before baking to achieve a gorgeous golden-brown exterior and enhanced flaky texture.
- Cool Before Serving ⏱️Allow the bites to cool for 3-5 minutes after removing from the oven so the filling sets slightly, preventing burnt mouths and making them easier to handle.
