Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Pre-Chill Your Pie Crust 🧊
Keep refrigerated pie crust in the freezer for 15 minutes before cutting and shaping to prevent shrinkage and ensure maximum flakiness during baking.
  • Toss Apples in Lemon Juice 🍋
Coat diced apples with fresh lemon juice immediately after cutting to prevent browning and add brightness that complements the cinnamon flavor beautifully.
  • Brown Butter for the Crust 🧈
Brush the pie crust with browned butter instead of plain butter for a deeper, more complex nutty flavor that elevates the entire bite.
  • Make a Cinnamon Sugar Seal 🤎
Before baking, sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture on the outside of sealed edges to create a crunchy, flavorful exterior that adds texture contrast.
  • Underbake Slightly for Juiciness 🍎
Remove bites when pastry is golden but before apples fully soften—this keeps the filling tender and juicy rather than dry and overcooked.
