Tips & Tricks (5)
- Freeze Before Frying 🧊Assemble your mozzarella puffs and freeze them for at least 2 hours before baking; this prevents the cheese from leaking out and ensures a golden, crispy exterior while the interior stays perfectly gooey.
- Seal the Edges Properly 🔒Use an egg wash and press the puff pastry edges firmly together with a fork, ensuring no gaps for the cheese to escape during cooking.
- Butter-Brush for Extra Crispiness 🧈Brush melted butter mixed with your spice blend (paprika, oregano, Cajun spice) on top of each puff before baking to create an incredibly flaky, golden crust with enhanced flavor.
- Double-Cheese Strategy 🧀Layer shredded mozzarella around a mozzarella string cheese stick center; this creates a molten core that stays contained while the shredded cheese provides extra creaminess throughout.
- Bake on Parchment with Egg Wash 🥚Bake on parchment paper at 400°F for 15-18 minutes and apply a second light egg wash halfway through cooking to achieve an ultra-glossy, professional appearance and optimal browning.
