Tips & Tricks (5)
- Freeze Nutella First ❄️Freeze Nutella for 30 minutes before stuffing to prevent it from leaking out during cooking and ensure a gooey center that stays contained.
- Use Brioche or Challah Bread 🍞Choose thick-cut brioche or challah bread instead of standard sandwich bread—their higher egg and butter content creates superior fluffiness and golden color.
- Seal Edges Properly ✋Press the bread edges firmly together after stuffing and dip quickly into the egg mixture to create a moisture barrier that prevents leakage during cooking.
- Butter the Pan, Not the Custard 🧈Add melted butter directly to your skillet rather than mixing it into the egg custard—this prevents the bread from absorbing too much liquid and becoming soggy.
- Medium Heat for Even Cooking 🔥Cook on medium (not high) heat for 3-4 minutes per side to allow the interior to warm through while the exterior achieves a golden crust without burning.
