Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Pre-Bake Your Crust 🥧
Blind bake the pie crust for 8-10 minutes at 425°F before filling to prevent a soggy bottom and ensure a crispy, golden shell.
  • Strain Your Pumpkin Puree 🎃
Press canned pumpkin puree through a fine-mesh strainer for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, creating a denser, more flavorful filling with better texture.
  • Temper Your Eggs First 🥚
Whisk eggs separately and slowly add the hot milk mixture while whisking constantly to prevent scrambling and achieve a silky, smooth custard filling.
  • Use the Water Bath Method 💧
Bake your pie in a water bath at 425°F for 15 minutes, then 350°F for 40-50 minutes to ensure even, gentle cooking and prevent cracking on top.
  • Test with a Knife, Not a Toothpick 🔪
Insert a thin knife 1 inch from the edge—it should come out clean while the very center still jiggles slightly, as residual heat will finish cooking the pie perfectly.
