Tips & Tricks (5)

  • Toast Your Bread First 🍞
Cut sandwich bread into cubes and dry them in a 300°F oven for 15-20 minutes before mixing, preventing soggy stuffing and creating superior texture and crunch.
  • Build Flavor with Aromatics 🧅
Sauté diced celery and onions in butter over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until golden and caramelized, creating a deeply savory flavor foundation that elevates the entire dish.
  • Control Moisture Precisely 💧
Add warm broth gradually while mixing rather than all at once, allowing you to achieve the perfect moisture level—bread should be moist but not waterlogged or mushy.
  • Season in Layers 🧂
Add poultry seasoning and sage to the sautéed aromatics first, then taste and adjust salt and pepper after adding bread, ensuring balanced seasoning throughout.
  • Don't Skip the Resting Period ⏱️
Let the stuffing sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before baking to allow flavors to meld and bread to fully absorb the broth for optimal taste and texture.
